browns bay.

hi everyone, want to try the bay on sunday morning and wondered whether i'd be likely to catch? i was gonna start with the rocks close to the beach to start with for hopefully flounder, then take a dander round to painted rock to c whats happening. if anyone has fished here in daylight and caught this year please post a wee reply.

hi there rab.

I haved fished here a couple of times in daylight to no avail really. I tried spinning from the painted rock onwards round the coast using loads of different lures.

plans have changed mate. i was working too late and never got to dig rag. i will get trying here soon though. guess its not fishing too well, from the amount of replies. looks a lovely spot to fish.

Ive also fished it in daylight with no fish caught,much better fished at night try at the ramp in front of the wee stream or the far right of the beach can throw up some nice flounders and dogs not to mention the odd surprise

hi rab most of the time i fish the painted rock its during day light and have had some really good fish off it...usie straight rag for the wrasse and pollock fish it hard on the bottom about 20 yards out from the painted rock itself there is like a wee ledge or platform thingy fish there and its the same for the conger 10 yards out with a fillet of mac...or you could always walk over the hill at browns bay there is a really big gulley which olds big ballan wrasse and cukkoo wrasse and of cousre the usual species like doggies, conger, cod, coalies etc etc
2010 species list: coalies, flounder, whiting, pollock, cod, doggie, sea trout, pouting, poor cod, short spined sea scorpion, long spined sea scorpion, 3 breaded rockling, shore rockling, 5 breaded rockling, tompot blenny, mackie, placie, dab, bullhuss, conger, ballan wrasse, corkwing wrasse, goldshinny wrasse,thronie, lesser weaver, bass, tub gurnard, red gurnard, grey gurnard, shanny, rock goby, turbot,

CONGER COUNTER: 42
