Flyer rigs

#1 Post by Donagh »

Anybody use flyer rigs. What weight and angle do you use when sliding the bait down the line?
I only get them to work when casting with them or off a pier.

Hi Donagh,

I'm curious as to how these work. How do you strike a fish without the bait just sliding up or down the line or am I missing something (pardon the pun).

Don.

Hi Don,

I haven't used one sucessfully yet so I don't know. I know these rigs are used to target top and bottom water species at the same time and I was hoping to snag a garfish in Glin or cappa while bottom fishing.

used flyer rigs sucessfully of beach .find the best way is to have two beads on your shock leader and put a snap swivel with about seven inch long mono and a few sequins with size 1/0 hook ,baiting up with mackerel strips is deadly on strom beaches for bass and sea trout ,you can pick up flatties as well .
