Skernaghan point, Hunters Rock Larne 05/05/07

#1 Post by trevt »

People: Me my mate Robert and his dad

Duration: 13.00-16.30 3.5 hours

Tide: high 14.00

Weather: Overcast, then sunny and breezy

Bait: feather, squid, rag

Results: about 40 - 50 Mackerel, 6 Pollack, 6 Coalfish, 2 Red Gurnard, 1 Launce.

Report:
Headed out from Larne yesterday for an afternoon fishing. Conditions were quite rough. Drifted up from Portmuck to Skernaghan point all but the Coalfish taken between these 2 points. Hit the coalfish at hunters rock. Nothing of notable size but steady enough sport. Roberts new Greys 12lb class boat rod snapped at hunters with no pressure on it at the time. :(

Unlucky with the Rod..... Greys do have a guarantee though. It will cost £30 to cover their costs, but if you send it back you should get a replacement.
