Jim Hendrick has some information on his site:

have fished here a few times....

not main beach. bass, eels and flounder only.

beach absolutely reeks of ray. never got to try it at night for them....beautiful beautiful place. wreckage from ships washed up on beach. makes a nice seat on which to watch the rod tips! rumours of a 'big cat' that roams he forest mentioned on radio. body of dead girl found under a blanket as if sleeping. like i said, never fished it at night...

sad about the girl though...

But a long walk!

You may be lucky and the forest gate is open. One option would be to take a mountain bike and cycle down the path.

Big cats, woods, mysterious shenanigans - is this where they film Lost?
I have visions of an attack from a bunch of oddbods coming from the woods in the middle of the night!
I'd be all over that (the fishing as opposed to getting attacked)

Yes, keep moving it closer to me. I'm fed up with driving to compos.

Any problems with camping or lighting BBQs on a wildlife reserve??
