Weather:varied

Bait:lug rag frozen sandeel and lure

Rigs:various

Results:see report

Catch and Release:: 3 bass to 3 lbish, 2 seatrout best 3 lbish, 10 pollack to 4 lb, 7 ballan wrasse to 3.5 lb, 6 dogfish.

Report:Just realised i was fishing for part of this trip beside Eoghan,

Not being a dedicated bass angler my trip was a bit more varied.

Tuesday evening drove to Dungarvan and fished the flood tide at Clonea east from midnight until 5 am and then went to the Cunnigar for high water. 1 schoolie bass.

After a couple of hours sleep drove to Dingle and fished the high tide at a rock mark at Ballydavid for a couple of hours with floatfished rag and trolled sandeel, 2pollack and 4 ballan wrasse.

Thursday: drove up to 2 marks on the Shannon to try for ray. Fished the first 3 hours of the flood at Carrig island west for 4 dogfish and then moved to Kilteery pier for the last 3 hours of the flood 2 more dogs. No ray this time.

Friday: early morning flood lure fishing at the mark reported by Eoghan no bass but 2 seatrout. One about 2 the other maybe 3lb. Back to the same mark in the evening for the top of the tide. This time 2 bass. All fish taken on same bass bullet lure.

Saturday: back on the rocks at Ballydavid, below the big mast. Last time i'll be climbing down here. Good days fishing plenty of pollack to 4 lb and wrasse to 3 1/2 lbs. Would have liked to stick to the wrasse fishing but i went through a lot of crab in a very short time.

Very enjoyable few days fishing.

Hi Art

Haven't had much luck of that beach at Clonea yet. Only my second time on it. The firts time it was blowing a gale it was practically unfishable, and the second time last week a flat calm but still only the one small schoolie. Yes all took the bass bullet near the surface. The biggest seatrout was the most spectacular he must have went a foot or more in the air on the take.

Well hello there..! Just read this post now.
Never thought to ask you if you were on this site on Friday or Saturday.

Great little spot for fishing and as you saw seemed to have good numbers of trout and Bass. Even if the bass were hit and miss at times.

Will have to pick myself up one of those little mackerel lures you were using.

If you want I will PM you the location of spot C as I saw you return all your fish..!

Nice to have inadvertently met you..! :-)
