Shamrock tackle the best gear in town
Lads 2 words for boat anglers ,
try it !!!!
especially the pink sabikis and the orange sabikis,
http://WWW.SHAMROCKTACKLE.COM
http://WWW.CRABROCKTACKLE.COM
they were used this weekend gone in the efsa compition and 7 out of the top 10 stayed on the shamrock tackle and didn't change to any other gears
its there to catch fish not anglers. You can see most of it on crabrock tackle or even on the shamrock tackle web page

I used mostly Shamrock tackle during the SAI boat comp too..... The Hiro rigs hooks kept bending and dropping me fish..... Didnt have that problem with the shamrock stuff at all, snoods a small bit light thats the only (tiny) gripe I had.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial

oh i do agree,
there stuff is great but the price isn't
€6.50 a rig
compared to a rig that costs €2.50
which ive proven actually to be more effective than any shop bought rigs for reef fishing,
(team ireland 2006 boat)
they are in greater supply compared to the likes of the hot hooks which you had to get yourself from the states up until early 2006.

Thanks for the Pics Mickeyfish, I had just dropped an order into Crabrock for some bits and had asked what it was the lads were using. Some of the stuff is very good alright. The Ray Hunter rigs baited with mack and fished from a boom were lifting ling out of it over the wrecks from Courtmac on our sortie earlier this year.
The 3 boom spreader rig killed wrasse whilst small red feathers (cant remember the name) kept picking up small codling at a time when fishing was very slow and kept my card ticking over.

well the two lads that own the company are good friends of mine martin and paul,
the thing about them is that they are anglers
pretty good ones 2
martin was 2nd in the master angler and paul was 6th up in mullaghmore last year and both will be travelling to belgium this oct for the worlds
but back to the tackle
they are constantly improving their rigs as they have chose to make a point by only fishing with their tackle,
last weekend in the EFSA competition
paul was second and martin was fifth
now there was 63 elite anglers competing
so that in itself makes a statement

MORE GREAT REPORTS ON SHAMROCK
paulocallaghan wrote: but i agree with you all ray caught had the shamrock whistling spoon above the botom hook , anyone not using the same blanked on the ray front, cant fault the shamrock stuff. also found fish on shamrock ray basher rigs and the red muppet rig, highly imporessed with shamrock gear, wouldnt go fishing (boat or shore) without the stuff

tried a few of their new range so far and have to say that i was impressed. i have only been out been out a few times so far this year but i did use one from the shore the other night and it resulted in me getting a rockling only barely off specimen weight. all the gear seems well tied and presented and i like the fact that the rigs are tied on eyed hooks instead of spade end as it allows you to retie them if you wish.

To be fair Mickey has said many times that he is nothing more than a friend/customer of the guys who make the rigs, so he is broadcasting how good they are, big difference between that and a direct advert for his own wares IMHO.
Lets face it on two counts, 1/ that the gear is good and works and 2/ that its a home grown product......personally he has nothing to apologise to me for, I will bare it in mind if ever I need that kind of rig....to me thats what forums like this are for.
He is putting himself on the line dont forget, because if they were sh!te he'd have a lot to answer for  :)

Shamrock Tackle
We've used the Limey B's, from Shamrock, lately and have found them extremely effective for Pollack - much more so than normal hokkai's. Also used Hayabusa Sabiki's that I picked up in Lanzarote - my god they are deadly!!!

Kilmore killers
A quick comment on the Kilmore Killers from shamrock, I'm not an expert, or a member of any international boat team, just a keen angler with some experience.
The snoods are tied on too light mono. We lost one particularly big fish, possibly a ling, but when the fish had freed itself, we found a depressing curly bit of mono . The hook had pulled. As the snood is so light, if your catching lots of fish, the snoods wrap around the main rig body repeatedly, to the point where they are useless.
I am now retying all these rigs on heavier mono snoods.
They are however, excellent attractors in green and did catch plenty of fish

My 2 cents worth......
With the exception of mackerel feathers / shrimp rigs for catching bait, I always retie all my comericially bought rigs, that way
1, I should never loose a fish, and
2, if I do its my own fault.
The components in the sharmock tackle range are fantastic, and there is at least one in every single one of my species traces.
They work fantastically well straight out of the pack, but as i'm an akward pernickity fecker I just have to modify them !
well worth having a couple of each type in the bottom of your box.
