14Ib Bass caught in Dingle area

Heard this from a good source today and from what I believe it was returned. Has anyone else heard about this..?
Not going to name the beach in question in case anyone gets annoyed etc..

I will be in Kerry the weekend of the 20th and will post a full report on how its fishing.

Yeah just surprised that there was no mention of it on this site.

the bass caught was actually 16 lbs, and it was caught in stradbally beside castle gregory, there is a photo in southside angling,

Heard about that Eoghan, saw a picture too, massive :shock:

Was one of several caught the weekend of the SAI comp in Dunree (March 24), may have been a few more caught since too?? Enjoy Dingle, can't wait to get down again, I'm taking a 5 day weekend down there the weekend of the SAI Comp, living for it!!

Holy crap 16Ib - savage fish. Do you know if it was returned...?
Hope it was. Not far away from the spawning months and a fish that size was no doubt a female but thats another argument for another thread. :-)

As for fishing down there I will be heading down Thursday 19th after work and retruning on the Monday evening. Tides are high approx 6,7,8 and 9 over the four days so two sessions a day, one early morning and one evening. I also have a mark that fishes well down there on a low tide with surface poppers so if I have the energy I will get 3 sessions in.
My idea of heaven...!

Will also have my surf board so the afternoon session could be sacrificed for a couple of hours on brandon...!
