People:just me

Duration:1400-2030

Tide:hw at 1730

Weather:very fine, clear blue sky but with a force 5-6 ne/e wind.

Bait:mackeral and squid

Rigs:6/0 pulleys on 100lb mono

Results:1 strap conger

Catch and Release:: Yes, nicely lip hooked so t-bar'd off quite easily

Report: with the weather so fine and the wind from the NE i decided to fish a rock mark i have been targeting for the past few weeks but only had a solitary scorpion fish from. luckily there is about a mile of fishable rock platforms so getting out of the wind was pretty straight forward. the one i chose resulted in the wind at my back (useful when casting with mack fillets and 35lb mainline) and deep water. how deep i was not sure but first cast resulted in approximately 12 seconds to reach bottom se i guessed pretty deep.....this resulted in a good run while i was rigging up my second rod. i left this develop for a few minutes before striking only to find that every thing had locked up solid.. for the next 2 hours i had a bite every cast which resulted in either a dropped run or snagged. finally i manage to hit a bite as it ran which resulted in a nice strap conger, the first of the year for me. fished for another few hours with plenty more bites and 1 lost fish...all in all it turned out an enjowable days fishing, always nice to have the rod tips moving considering the poor fishing the past few months..hopefully friday will proove more succesful
