Digging ragworm in Dublin

Hi all
Can anyone tellme where around Dublin I can dig Rag . If you dont want to put it up here you can pm me
wOULD APPRECIATE IT. We used to dig it in Dunlaoghaire but it has been filled in.

is there not good rag beds in the wexford region seems like a long trip to get a couple dozen rag! unless you/we plan to dig commercially :shock:

Point taken but no I dont want to dig commercially.A mate of mine is coming down next weekend and we were hoping to do a bit as he said he would dig if I can tell him where. By the way where in wexford can it be dug. I live in north wexford

Any where there is a harbour or estuarty in dublin under the wooden bridge in dollymount

Thanks Colin... will despatch said mate to there. Having grown up in Dunlaoghaire we didnt have to go anywhere else but the new Harbour CO. put an end to over a hundred years of digging and made a carpark! They have also banned fishing on the new harbour breakwaters after the locals being assured that access would not be just for the yachting fraternity Its a shame as its a great facility for the kids of the area. Any way thats another days discussion!!!!

just lug !! der is a nice rag bed on sandymont tho !!

specimens 09 - twait shad 1.22kg , 3 beard rockling 2lb 6oz , whiting 3lb .
