Looking for float fishing help from coarse anglers

#1 Post by teacher »

I've dabbled a bit with float fishing for Bass but I think I could be doing a better job of it. Some of you coarse anglers might be able to advise. I use a setup with maybe a 1/2oz or 1oz weight and pike floats (can't remember the size).

I'm interested in things like correct snook lengths, distances from float to weight to bait, etc. for best bait presentation. Should I be using shot at various distances from the bait? What's the best setup for casting without tangles?

I am mainly interested in using peelers and other fairly heavy baits.

Any advice much appreciated.
