Safety Warning....Grauvell Killer 3 hook flappers

#1 Post by petekd »

Bought a couple of these the other day as I had neither the time nor the inclination to tie my own. Baited with small baits and teamed with a 3 oz and 4oz respectively they were lobbed into the surf.

To clarify, I attempted to lob them into the surf. Both rigs broke at a crimp and sent the lead flying to god knows where. The crimp had been applied with way too much force and damaged the line. If you have any of these, take great care with them or better again, take them back. There was no great force applied in casting them, just a gentle lob as they were baited for flats in the suds.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

Well I guess we now know why they're called "Killers"! :)

Have you tried their new "Maimer" range yet?
