So far I like best fishing for asp. As for the sea fishing, it is cod on a light spinning tackle. Of course I didn't catch a bass in Irish waters yet, so I think that my fav list will change :)

When fishing a light I mine light rod and 6 feathers in Howth of the rocks for Mackeral and you get a full house and they take you all over the place or if you get a seal chase you in and its you against that seal what a buzz.
Maybe I am a bit sick of the cold wheather at the moment and looking forward to the summer.

Bullhuss and Ray in deep water, great fighting. Wrasse get boring after a while but one or two sessions a year is good fun.

Ray brought in over any ground. They don't have to be big but just in numbers. I like to fish over mixed ground with big baits on 4/0 penels.

Black Bream. One of the best fighting fish in the sea, and one of the tastiest too.

have to agree with Estuary Lad.. nothing quite like a ray that is swimming the opposite way and all you can do is hold on to the rod for dear life.. and when you catch a lively huss above 9lbs they can give you a good fight..

conger no doubt still impressed by their power, close seconds being ray and last summer mackos on 4lb line and a spinning rod rated for 10grams. . .
