Lads I log onto this site from two Ip addresses, this one currenly is my work pc and work IP address, the second, last night is from my laptop at home and a different IP address. If any mods want to check that they can, im not that sad.

Stevo is the lad catching the bass in the vid I posted a while back, I think it was under Tinaberna Bass.
I am obviously the guy with the camera so I can assure you we are two different people.

The flounder was a joke put up to slag a few guys that I fish with that use this site. (Mainly stevo and the hair do, its a long story so I wont bore you with it) Also one of my mates who said he caught a huge flounder but hadnt a camera and thats how the whole thing started.
It wasnt meant to cause offence to anyone and we had a good laugh with it. Lesson learned.
It was only caught a few years ago and pic was taken on a disposable kodak camer and, as boycie went to great lengths to point out, is a pic of a pic. :)

If I was that way inclined I would have said the Greystones Cod was mine and not one of the lads I work with.

Again from the replies I am not afraid to say I was wrong about the shock leader.
True if a novice read what I posted it could have caused harm to someone and that's not what I would want so sorry about that.
In future i'll stick to advice on plugging and short casting for bass.

Dave,

when your reeling in the leader knot on to your reel make sure it goes on to one side of the reel spool if you leave it in the centre your tumb will just keep getting hit by the knot

Depends on your technique. Maybe I am getting carried away with the 150 yards but I wouldnt be far off it I reckon.

I dont think anyone in the country could cast a squid 150 yards with a 4oz and 25lb line and thats with shockleader

may not be the same thing but i have put a mack fillet with a 4.5oz lead and 20lb mainline and 80lb shock at about 120yards, have cast a baited rig on the field(jellyworm rig) 140yards

I used to be able to get great distances with an old abu Garcia 12 ft beachcaster, Abu elite multiplier (brakes removed) and about 25Ib line.
The trace was a clipped down single hook into an impact shield with a 4oz bomb.
Snood length was approx 4-5 inches max to reduce lag on the cast. Impact shield half inch from the weight so the whole trace
was pretty streamlined. The cast was a basic overhead/to the side cast but wound up once or twice to build up momentum.
I used to apply more force to the latter quarter of the cast while maintaining power throughout the cast, kinda a slow wind up rather
than power from the start.

Only downfall was the hook was max a 2/0 and bait limited to squid/mackerel strips or crab tied on as any other bait wouldn’t
stand up to the cast.

A sequin or 2 above the hook with a stop knot behind should stop the bait sliding up the line during the cast or impact, You should be able to cast most baits with a clip down then
