I fished Garretstown in Cork last night with Phanover. Didnt post a report as fishing was crap and most interesting thing we saw was a dead fish on the beach.... Interesting what you say about the coalies as we had a brace apiece I think it was. They hit baits like trains, unreal. They then proceed to swim towards you as you reel in giving no account of themselves whatsoever till a couple of yards away. Mad how savage they are though isnt it... Nice evenings fishing by the way for ya, fair play. :D
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

It was rubbish, i briefly spun but not so much as a pluck. :( I originally fancied a go close to the river entrance, incidentally, a 3 and a half pound sea trout was lifted from that river 3 weeks ago!

People: Redox, Sally, Drew.

Duration: 3pm - 6.30pm

Tide: High and Dropping

Weather: Started to Blow from the West, Squally Showers.

Bait: Mack, Squid, Rag, Lug.

Rigs: 3 Hook Scratchers, Pennell (2/0)

Results: Coalies to 33cm, Codling to 25cm, Pouting to 25cm, Whiting to 21cm, Ballan Wrasse to 18cm, Dogfish.

Report:

First time fishing with these two, and first off I have to say, THEY'RE ABSOLUTELY NUTS! Sally Opened Proceedings with a Small Ballan Wrasse at Distance, after that the fishing slowly heated up, with Whiting arriving.

With the Arrival of Dark so came the Codling, A Fish every cast for Redox who was using Pennell Lug & Squid, Also the Odd Codling for Sally, as well as a Doggy...

Some viscious Coalfish bites resulted in a few single and Double Shots for me, including one fish of 33cm, Also in the mix were a couple of decent size pouting.

As The wind picked up it got unconfortable, and Sally started to complain that his hair might be messed up, so we headed to the Chippy for dinner.

Great night with the lads, hope to do it again some time...

(Btw, Sally is AKA Baldrick, Redox's Mate... He's a Rocket) 8)
