]People = self only
[b]Duration 1100 to 1800
[b]Tide - falling and rising
[b]Weather F1 fine
[b]Bait feathers and mackeral
[b]Rigs - dropper
[b]Results - good
[b]Report - Pollack, mackeral, scad, red and tub gurnard, poor cod, pout, whiting, lsd, squid, cuckoo wrasse and goldsinny.
Points of interest: Fishfinder showing huge accumulations of what I at first thought were mackeral. Catch showed them to be scad.
Squid squirted a large quantity of a nasty amount of black puke over the boat. This issued forth at a considerable velocity.
Fished areas that are usually diificult due to sea conditions. They day, however, proved unusually calm.
Most fish caught on Atlantic side of island.
Left sandwiches at home. :roll:

Nice fishing Peter. The black puke from the squid was the ink it squirts as a defence mechanism - if its in the water the ink would make it murky so predators couldn't see the squid while it made its getaway...
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

Eoin, the answer to your question is yes.
Was out there again yesterday. Stopped off first at Kilronan for breakfast in view of my sandwich history. Through Gregory sound to catch a few mackeral for bait. Then down to Inisheer for trying out and seeking new marks. Indeed I discovered an unusual feature. A narrow 'pillar' about 20 feet high in 80 feet of water. Many pollack surrounding.
Caught pollack, mackeral, lsd, whiting, pout and ling. The whiting were of decent size.
Was hoping for cod and/ or haddock but have not caught any so far this year! Usually a few in the deeper water marks.
For those interested in birds, there was a skua harassing gulls - in a most aggressive manner.
