Mullet showing in Dunfanaghy

#1 Post by Tanglerat »

....if anyone's interested, I saw a couple of swirls in water no more than 18 inches deep beside the disused pier behind The Square.

Anyone interested in having a go at them with me? I reckon it'd be Donegal's answer to Bonefishing Flats.... :D

Handy!

I had a quick dibble at them before I went away a couple of weeks ago. 1 strike that missed, off the pier behind the square.

I'll be having another look at them soon. Was yours a Thick- or Thin-Lipped?

not really sure TBH as iv never had one before, i think it was a thick lipped.

found the beach there to be great craic, as everything gats washed out of the estuary at low water. i fished the entrance to the estuary and found that 2 hours either side was great for flats, must have had about 25-30 flounder and plaice as well as the mullet. great fun standing in the water watching the flatties swim up and take the bait at your feet
