Which carp rod 11-12ft 2 - 2 1/2 test curve?

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Which carp rod 11-12ft 2 - 2 1/2 test curve?

#1 Post by jfkireland »

Hi guys,
Can anyone recommend a decent carp rod 11 or 12 foot with 2 - 2 1/2 test curve?
I am looking to spend under 100 euros.
Thanks
JK

Hi JFK, Shimano Beastmaster 11ft mid range is a class rod, but over your budget of 100 yoyo. I currently use a Dragon carp 12ft - 2.5 lb t/curve for piking. Nice rod - does the job, I have a few left if you're interested, well below your 100 yoyo budget. (you could buy 2 and have change !!)

Conor,
You always come up with the goods!!
Is it a stiff action rod - looking to fire a 25 - 55g lure 50 - 80m with 20lb power pro?
Will you be at the angling show in swords?

Hi JFK, it'll do that alright. Myself and David have kept 2 back for ourselves.
I dont know if I'll be at the show as I may be off to Chicago for 9 weeks with work (unsure of departure date), but if I'm still about , I'll be there.
