Passage East

#1 Post by somedose »

Does anyone know whether it's safe to fish from the beach in Passage? I used to fish it the whole time for 3 years but ever since the drift net ban came in, no anglers (even sea anglers) can fish on the beach. There used to be (still may be) large posters warning anglers not to fish. I even have heard of people getting their tyres slashed and windscreens smashed by locals while they were fishing.

Cheers

there is no problem to fish on passage beach those posters were put up for the general election to hi-light an unfair decision on the salmon anglers in passage area who were offer E3000 for their licenses while salmon anglers up west were offer a lot more we have fished senior and junior comps since. 8)
