i've been fishing for years but mainly spinning of rocks or piers ( not very sucessfully ). i've got some beach gear and a little idea of what to do, but would like some info on where to go to get some sort of feel for it. i dont expect any top marks, just somewhere open and weed free, what bait catches what and how to present them, any where near antrim or down coast, i'm familiar with ardglass pier...... any tips or info no matter how small would be great,
please help a long serving beginner......

Hello Minty,
Others local to you may have more specific info, but you'll get a lot of great info for starters by

1. looking at 'Common Shore Angling Q&A" on this forum, loads of useful info there.

2. getting info specific to your area on the "Shore Marks" section (on the home page).

3. Checking through 'Shore Reports' for your local marks (use the search facility)

Good Luck

Blackie

Waterfoot is never really a busy beach and is mostly weed and snag free!waterfoot is always good for flounder and occassionally plaice.. especially if you cant cast far- best bait- rag or lug tipped with makeral.

also at night there will be doggies at distance to sandeel and makeral and coalies, codling, flounder, whiting in close to to rag/lug baits.

hope this helps.. pm me if u want to know more
chris :D
