rod and reel cleaning and care
How should i clean my reel and rod after a trip. is there any oils or crease i can use on my reel and even rod to keep from rust or just make them last longier

The line and spool are not going to rust! All you have to do is hold the reel under running warm water after a fishing session to wash the salt off. Try not to get water inside the spool, ie. under the edge. Dry it off with either a rag or kitchen towel. Spray a little WD40 on a dry rag and wipe the surface. If you start using a multiplier with WD40 on the line, you riskyour thumb slipping during the cast and that wouldn't be clever. WD40 will slowly dissolve grease, so if you get WD40 in all your cogs and workings, you will not have any grease to protect against wear. WD40 is a penetrating, lubricating, water dispersant, but you shouldn't use it to lubricate you cogs.
