BAN ON WICKLOW BEACHES

Hi
Im just after hearing that wicklow cc are planning to do the same thing heard that a few anglers were run off greystones by baliffs at the weekend anyone hear of anything

Bailiffs would have no right to run people off the beaches at the moment unless they were being dangerous.
2008 Species: Flounder, whiting, coal fish, Dogfish, rockling, dab.

Bailiff is the old term for fishery officers - and fishery officers would have no reason to run people off a beach, unless they were breaking the bass legislation by keeping undersize bass or over the bag limit. Even then they couldn't run them off, they could issue fines or seize equipment alright, but can't force people to leave an area
County councils don't have bailiffs, maybe wardens, but again they should have no reason, or powers, to run anglers off a beach...
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

hi lads it was myself that told croppyboy about this !! it happened during last week !! my bro told me that 2 of the lads we know were told they were not allowed fish the south beach and were run off it !!! ill find out more about it and get back to you all !!
