People:me and jonah jones

Duration:10.30am til 4pm

Tide:rising

Weather:slight nw wind and a misty rain

Bait:mac, sandeel, rag, blueys and squid

Rigs:pennel pulleys and 2 hook clipped

Results:wrasse, doggies, pouting and a cuckoo ray

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:last minute decision but well worth it since its my first time out properly fishing since the arrival of my son cameron who was born on the 17th august...but anyway bac to the fishin....fishin was really slow for the first hour or so then jonah caught a doggies on straight squid i followed up with a nice wrasse of 2lb free lining down the side of the rocks....it when all quite for around 2 hrs then i started catchin small wrasse and pouting as i turned round to check the apollo which had a huge squid bait at distance i could have swore i got a bite but though i was just seeing things and continued tiddler bashin...got fed up catchin small stuff so checked the rod at distance and all hell broke loose and it turned out to be a nice cuckoo ray which was just 4lb or just slighty under the 4lb mark but also on the same trace was a doggie which had taken the bottom hook of the pennel and the ray was on the top hook :lol:....after that it was a dog a cast all on straight squid...nothin was goin near mac, blueys or the sandeel and only the wrasse and pouting where taking rag...we ended up runnin outta bait so we called it a day....crackin days fishin for me and i think jonah was gettin sick of me gettin doggies every cast he could only manage the 1 and a small wrasse....i think a another trip is needed bac up to this mark soon....pics to follow soon

well done sounded like a good session. what do you make of those blueys. They have got me out of blanking on a couple of occasions. I find they are better when they are rock solid frozen. there is some amount of scent/juices comes off them. cracking catch on the squid :D
