Weather: SAVAGE!!
Bait: Lug, Peeler & lures
Rigs: Eh, cant remember what its called – ‘1 hook down from the weight’?
Results: My first Bass ever!! 4 dogs… and my second Bass ever!!!
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report: Fished Poulishone on Saturday off the rocks around the headland to the right of the beach… first cast I pulled in a small Bass! I couldn’t believe it… It was small tho, about 1/2 a pound… but it was my first bass ever so I was delighted! Only took about 16 years of trying!! – Was quiet after that…. Pulled in 2 dogs a bit later in the day & that was it. Unreal weather though.
Sunday, got up bright & early & headed to Rooney’s point… fished off the beach just down by the rocks on the left… nothing much doing… after a while I moved up the beach a little & got a dog… Was just about to pack up & head home when the rod jumped off the stand practically – initially thought It must be either a smoothie or a big dog… next thing, the line starts running up the beach – “Holy F**k” I thought! – it’s another bass!... couldn’t believe it… It was about 2 pounds. Fished for another 2 hours or so & then called it a day as nothing else was doing… First bass was caught on lug, second on peeler.
Delighted.
