Duration:1230-1900

Tide:hw@ 1530

Weather:bright sunshine and clear skys, gentle f3/4 w/nw

Bait:fresh mackeral

Rigs:6/0 pulleys

Results:8 bull huss, 2 1/2, 4, 3x 2x5lbs, 3x8lbs; 1 dog fish

Catch and Release:: Yes



Report:

great days fishing, decided to fish a new mark i had been itching to fish for ages.first cast i had a good run while feathering some macks, hitting it on the second run i could feel the nodding of a good fish, got him to the surface and attempted to lift him but unknown to me he was bigger than i figured and he dropped off. had 2 more in the hour 2 hours before hw. it then went very quite for about 2 hours before i got 2 more 5lbers, again it went quite for about an hour before i had a frenatic hour where i had 2 8 pounders, a 5 pounder and a 6 pounder. also had 2 runs which resulted in snags.

Your going to have to organise a huss session for me the next time I'm down Neil :!:
Sea Species(25) bass, codling, whiting, turbot, seatrout, stingray, pollock, coalfish, longspine scorpion, ballan wrasse, dogfish, ling, pouting, poor cod, dab, mackerel, smelt, sandeel, launce, bull huss, painted ray, thick lip mullet, golden grey mullet, rock goby.
Fresh Water (2) brown trout, sea trout

Nice huss lumpy! Do they stay around all year? Heading to cork in October, wouldnt mind some big huss.

ive picked them up till about mid november but the numbers tend to be lower then.
