At the end of the "so called" summer, all the east Cork beaches should be giving up ray in the hours of darkness. try the wall or ballycotton pier for the huss again in darkness.

Do the ray turn up in numbers on the east cork beachs?
Is it mainly painted?
Is sand eel the main bait?
I'd presume a two hook golds or up and over would be the job. Am I right?

The best bait in the months comming up to Christmas is sandeel either single or doubled up, with squid a close second, razor and cocktails also produce. The most common species are small eyed with the odd thornie. small comming tides in darkness.

Thanks lads. I hope to get down a couple of times in October. I got some good info when asking about lug around here before. Any further info on fishing for rays or anything else in east cork PM me if you don't want it seen.
