People:me

Duration:7 pm- 12 pm

Tide:non existant ( didnt move more than two feet down all night )

Weather:no just sun

Bait:lug bluey mac rag squid

Rigs:pully pennels 3 hook flaps

Results:8 flounder ,15 whiting, 1 pout ,3 pup tope and about 20 doggies

Catch and Release:: Yes



Report:trecked over the phantom dunes only to find the beach empty so tried a new spot a bit futher up than normall at 8 ish noticed a few heads setting up down the beach , didnt move down as i was busy with bites , all the flounder taken on rag/ squid , whiting and tope on lug and doggies on lug / all other baits , tried the bluey on a pennell but no takers , used up my 20 rag ,60 big lug 4 squid , two mack and 1 bluey by 11.45 so headed down to the lads ,croppy boy and boycie 89 recognized my weary face and a chin wag revealed that some ray and 1 smoothie had been chaught ,even though the lads kindly offered me some more bait i headed home as i was knackered ( came close to falling asleep at the wheel SCARY!!!!)didnt take pics of my boring fish :cry: but am sure the lads have a few good ones , the moon was massive at dusk and right through the session so here,s a pic

i fished south beach from friday eve till sunday 10 yeap tide was like never,fish wasnt very into baits through all time i fished got 11 dogs,7 tiny dabs and ray (wasnt big aither) at night time was getting runs on mac ang rag coctails,really hard runs,was using from 1 to size 3 hooks and didnt manage to hook up a fish felt the weight at the end and same second its gone...any ideas who it could be?

sounds like a smooth hound or maybe a bass both will drop a bait if they feel resistance and both swim fast bass can cover 16 feet per second when chasing sandeel or sprat thats why they slackline anglers so much where you using grip leads ?

Sorry to miss you. I came late just before 9 and saw one to my left and a group to the right so went for the group. I was there with sean and mark when you passed. I hope to be back up in october and nail a few codling.

used a grips and plain but no differense an before wasnt any problems to hook one,think i need to upgrade to size 4-5 hooks on the pennel

hey donagh i should have come down earlier to ye for a chin wag but you know what its like when you start catching very hard to up sticks when you dont know if the others are catchin , i left my phone in the van so couldnt ring boycie 89 to see if it was worth the shift was hoping for a bass to sicken the lads :lol: but it didnt show up (as usual)
