I run past there at lunchtimes the odd time and have seen the boys fishing, some young lads fish for mackerel with feathers. I stopped one day to ask one of the boys fishing the mouth of the river and he told me that you can often see sea trout coming up under the bridge. He, nor his friends had ever caught any though.
One of my colleagues lives in Whiteabbey and he tells me he has seen large fish entering the fresh water. You often see people watching over the bridge in the summer.
