thanks mickey

it was just south of the stream aswell that i was fishing + the 2 lads later on - mind you it wasnt on the top of low tide about 1-2 hours off it

i had my suspicions about the low tide alright when there is no surf

to be honest corby i would only fish that beach with some lug and in a nice norwesterley wind.

in the sort of conditions you were fishing in im suprised you didnt head down to ballyreen. its only down the road and with much better fishing.

well IMHO fanore is a low tide mark...
turbot flounder and plaice are the flatties to be had... mack and squid work very well there for flatties.. haven't actually caught anything on lug worm there :? :? all this to the left beside the rocky ledge and usually in surf conditions with SW winds..

bream and bass can be caught there too, bream usually after dark..
rolling leads are better, grip leads usually get covered with the wash of sand and get buried ( lost a few rigs that way )

i usually check at fanore post office to see what has been reported lately..

i would have headed down - and believe me i thought about it - but then i just thought i would stay on and try the place in dusk and at low water

with the 2 lads arriving later then i had company :)
