North Antrim rock mark 21/07/2007

People:me sam and q ball

Duration:2200/0600

Tide:out then incoming

Weather:mild flat calm

Bait:ragworm fresh mackerel

Rigs:3 hook flappers 2 and 20 and pully pennells

Results:10 species pollack 3 bearded rockling conger codling dab flounder dogfish bullhuss spotted ray plaice

Catch and Release:: Yes



Report:Headed to a favourite rock mark the weather was perfect and so was the fishing it was none stop all night the only down point was i got a new stove and bought loads a burgers but after frying the first 2 we couldn't find are baps we were not happy loads of burgers but no baps fs sam had a 3 bearded rockling ,3 dogfish and a strap conger. Q ball had a 7lb conger, 13 dogfish, 5 pollack and a dab i caught 6 pollack, around 30 dogfish, a flounder,and a plaice, 2 codling,my first 2 spotted rays and a bullhuss and from a North Antrim rock mark happy days.

Sounds like you had a good night,heading out tonight myself where do you recommend not to fussed on fishing rock marks

If it was me heading out to a beach 2nite id hit castlerock for an attempt on bass or up round ballycastle spinning up to dusk then on to bait after dark fresh mackerel should fish better than worms good luck with were ever you hit.

great fishing mate wasnt aware ray could be caught from shore from antrim coast. any chance of the general area as a clue lol never caught spotted yet and need it on the species list. hav u caught any other ray from there? to bad bout the burgers im sure u eat them anyway.

Well done on the nights fishing, so you guys made it home then eventually?. We met this morning, you confirmed with me as to which species of Ray a guy caught the night before. Maybe run into you again sometime. Cheers

yea made it home ok left around 8 ish nice to meet you contender us 3 caught a few small pollack when use left but that was all maybe bump into use again some time.

to be honest nelson sam was down at the harbour earlyer on and he wasnt for telling any1 i asked him wer you went and so did ghosty but e wouldnt say and he was kinda drunk aswell. lol

well done alan sounded like an amazing session fella. i think there was a cuckoo ray caught from the same location about a month or two ago

well im thinkin off headin round probably wednesday or tghursday depending on the tides. wednesday tide is at 8.35 and thursday tide is at 9.40. thursday tide maybe better fa me because by the time i get home from work it could be seven because il av ta get a bus from greenisland. so u decide wot 1 ya wanna do. :D
