People:Just me
Duration:Half 10 Till half 12
Tide:Rising
Weather:Clear blue skys and gentle breeze
Flys Used:Decievers, clousers, and other baitfish patterns.
Set Up:9ft6 9 weight,WF9 sinker with a 7ft mono leader.
Results:15+ pollack and 1 Launce.
Catch and Release:: Yes (except one pollack bleeding through the gills.)
Report: Decided after all the reports to try out the swff around sorrento terrace, thanks to Denis map I was able to find the place to fish. Most of the fish came on decievers but because of the steep rocks behind me the kept getting broken and lost a few to the bottom as well. Biggest pollack was around 1/2 a pound but were good fun when they were crash diving into the kelp, water was very clear and you could see the fish follow the fly and if you twitched it you could see them go for it. No need for a long cast. Some cast were parallel to the shore and caught fish. Caught the launce on a basic bucktail type baitfish (looked like a sandeel).

Great stuff, I'm glad that you where able to find the spot. Think it might get rather busy down there with feather flickers over the next few days if all the pollack stay in the location. Did you try putting on a larger "weighted" fly and letting it sink fully to see if there where larger fish further out?

I was there too, from 11:30 to 15:30. Pity I missed you Jack. Started at White Rock then found the nudist area (Hawk Cliff?). I must have been doing something wrong or was at the wrong place because I only hooked one small pollock, which got away when I was lifting it, and an 8-9 inch eel-looking fish with dark back and clear belly (lounce??). I was spinning mainly with the german sprat but also tried floating minnows and poppers at WhiteRock. :(
At least I touched a fish, so that's a step up in my CV!
