Will This Gonna Be New Trend ??

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Will This Gonna Be New Trend ??

#1 Post by rapalajoe »

I dont like Shimano except for their few models....one of them is Trinidad....
I notice that theres a few angler that used their hi-speed jigging Trinidad for surf/beach casting,yeah...the old models got the centri break....how bout their new Trinidad with DC(digital control)??Will this new model will perform well on the beach??Less birdie and more distance??This is not their first DC model, they have come with Calcutta Conquest DC a few years back and followed by Antares DC(Callais DC for US model) which is more for trouble free spinning multiplier/baitcaster.Not many of these models ever make it to this side of the continent, maybe because of the style of fishing that we do here. But will their trinidad DC will make it over here??On the beach??And if it really perform well, will it be legal on the casting court???

Nothing new there then...... :P
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

Interesting if the digital controller would actually kick in the mags as it "felt" a birdy happening at any stage of the cast.
Looks like a nightmare to service though and if it was to leak....

Cool, it does have a setting like what I was thinking, where it monitors the line feed and adjusts braking the whole way through the cast.

Humm.. i wonder how easy it would be to adapt a similar system to my multi's..
cant be too hard to rig up a system where the turning spool creates a dynamo effect creating an electric current thereby creating a magnetic field in the copper coil, and have a variable resistor set up to adjust the amount of current to the coil, therefore a self powered self adjusting mag kit

I love the idea, but how well would it operate after sitting in six inches of sea water? (This happens regularly on reels that I have in the low position sitting on the rod rest).
