off the boat you cant go wrong with a flowing trace, length depends on tide run, but as a rule its always shorter when the tides running hard say 6 feet.
make your three hook flowing trace and use snood clips on your snoods so you can change hook sizes easily or change the snood if its gets chafed by teeth or rough ground. bring hook sizes from 1-6/0 and don't forget the all important muppets and beads. for tope, conger, ling and huss you can use a wire flowing trace with a 6/0 aberdeen. mackerel flapper works best.
off the shore a pulley pennel with 3/0 hooks over rough ground should bag a huss or two plus congers, dogs et. off clean beaches you cant beat a good old scratching paternoster with size 2 hooks, but the pennel pulley will take ray, remember let ray sit on your bait as their slow eaters.
baits i would bring would be lug and rag, mackerel should be easy to get hold of up there.

there is brilliant mullet fishing in the cladagh, mullet average about 4lbs and are very willing to take! im not sure how blackrock is fishing for huss, but we have caught a lot of them there before, usually later in the year around august-october though.will give it a go soon and il let you know how i got on! you can get conger at the slipway in salthill. hope that the info is some help to you!
