At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

penn power stix problem, i need advice

#1 Post by ady »

I recently bought a penn bass 11'6' rod as a second rod for lighter work.

The only problem is that when i go to put the two sections together they only go so far leaving about an inch between the two sections. If it goes to far it is a nightmare to get apart. :?: :?:

help needed

ady, there is supposed to be a gap in rods!  It's there to allow for wear over time. For goodness sake dont try and push the both sections together too far as to get rid of the excess spigot or you are in danger of splitting the blank

Normally you push the 2 section together until they effectively touch and tighten in on eachother. That's when you stop!! You can if you want just give them a slight twist to allow the blanks to bite? but you don't really need to. Putting the rods together properly should also make it a great deal easier to take apart at the end of your trip.

Hope this helps?
