all depending on your boat be careful of the engine you buy there are long shaft and short shaft,

most likely the one that you need will be a long shaft

an engine of 30 to 40 hp should push you approx 10 to 15 knots

depending on your budget, buh there are 3 models i would recommend ,
1. honda
2. yamaha
3. suzuki

its best to spend a rew extra quid on a decent engine there's nothing worse than having to call out the life boat , because your engine is broken down,(always carry an anchor)

You'd be best to post a picture of the boat. The hull type (displacment, semi-disp. or planing) will determine what power engine will be suitable.

an engine of 30 to 40 hp should push you approx 10 to 15 knots

I'm afraid there is no way of telling this without knowing the type of boat as performance will relate to hull type, weight etc. so get a pic posted :)
