Hi John1!!
I'm thinking of heading down to Newcastle myself this weekend and was just wondering if weed was a problem? Also was there a big surf while you were down there?
Cheers

there was a small amount of weed but it didnt cause much of a problem.
no surf just a swell with very coloured water.

they were caught as little as 15 yards out.
trying to keep away from them we could not avoid them.
