ABU Customer Service (Purefishing UK)
I just wanted to say hats off to the guys at ABU Purefishing UK for excellent customer service. I sent a side plate from my Mag Elite to them last Friday for a repair estimate. I had damaged the drive gear screw head after dropping it on a rock. Lo and behold, it came back this morning with a new side plate replaced free of charge. No charge for postage either. It had cost me nearly a tenner to send it. Well impressed!

glad to hear you had good service, unfortunately my experience was not so good. i purchased a sportsmag but the shop had lost the box so i asked these people for help and got brushed off.. hence no warranty ,instructions or any other bits that may or may not come with a new reel

Kevin,
Not trying to rub salt in, but in my opinion the shop should have got in touch with the Abu rep to get a box and the other things that "they" lost before they sold it on....or they should have knocked something off the price.
How did they brush you off, I cant help but think that the spares department wouldnt get much call for boxes and probably wouldnt have one , but the other stuff, like warranty, tools and oil would be nothing to them.
Tom.

Kevin,
To be honest, if you were to complain to Trading Standards they would tell you to go back to the shop. Its the shop who should sort it out with their supplier...or....give you enough off to compensate you for the missing parts and warranty. You are the customer of the shop, the shop is the customer of the supplier they use.
The other avenue for you to take is to contact Abu customer service and complain about the shop....or let the shop know that this is what you plan to do....this may make them kick in and get it sorted.
Did they charge you the full retail price ?
