Rock rod and light surf advice

Hi,

I was looking for some advice I have been looking at alot of rods for fishing off rocks and maybe light surf. I currently have a cheap rod combo which needs replaced. I would normally be using this rod for Mackerel, Pollock but am wanting to expand my range of fish to include Coalies, Wrasse, and Bass (maybe the odd doggie). I would be using the rod for feathers, Spinning, float fishing maybe getting into lures for Bass. Is there rods that would suit all of this or would I be better with two? I really want to play the fish and get a good bend in the rod this is were the fun lies.

The Rods I have been looking at

Daiwa Longbeam Bass 11'6"
Greys Bze 11'9" 2-3oz
Greys Bze 12'6" 3-5oz
Greys Sea Spin 11' 1-3oz
Mike Ladle Surespin MkII 11' up to 2oz
Abu Enticer Bass 11'6" 1-3oz

All of these rods look like they could do the job anyone own these willing to give advice or any others I should be considering??

I was thinking of pairing it up with a Shimano 5000b GTE Fixed Spool anyone have one and have an opinion? Would I be better with a Multi?

the 3-5oz bze without question. great rod and will handle everything you are talking about and still allow you to have fun.

sorry i forgot to comment on the reel

......any medium to large spinning reel should do fine......i use and okuma interceptor which is a dirt cheap but tough and good reel.

Would the 3-5 oz version really be usable for lures??

well ive bin using it for that occasinaly and it can throw them a fair distance...the only problem is it can get a bit heavy when you are plugging for a while.......on second thoughts, i would go with the bze for the float, feather and spinning and get a leeda quicksilver for the plugging. great rod and very cheap.

I have an enticer here, it's an alright rod, but a bit stiff for the play you'd want I think
