People: me

Duration: 12.30pm - 4.30pm

Tide: HT approx 2pm

Weather: Costas 8)

Bait: rag / frozen mack / frozen sandeels / squid

Rigs: various

Results: 1 dog

Catch and Release:Yes

Report: Had the caravan up the coast at the weekend and got permission to go fishing. Picked up some decent rag in Causeway Tackle, Bushmills and headed for the rocks at Dunseverick.
Set up one rod to fish bottom and the other for a spot of float and spinning. Sea was flat calm to the extent that I was able to fish the low rocks even through high tide.
Was too quiet for my liking and I can only assume that the weather was too good although I did think that I would have picked up some flats and a few more dogs than the one that I caught.
The one fish that I did manage to coax on shore was caught on rag and mack and came around 4pm. I reckon the evening would have seen things pick up but unfortunately I had promised that I would cook the dinner.............

hi Stevie, used to fish Dunsevrick a lot, but it was always far better when it was abit choppy. .. and that was afew years back when there was a lot more about than now. only ever caught small pollack and wrasse in at the very edge when it was calm.

nick j - yep have to agree with you re the conditions, I have never fished it before on such a warm and sunny day with very little movement in the water.

ady - I park in the lay-by opposite the road down to the Harbour and then venture round the coastal path to the rocks to the left down to the furthest accessible point.

Regards
Stevie C
