People: Me

Duration: 7.30pm to 9pm

Tide: Full. Decent surf with breeze from the east

Weather: Beautiful blue skies

Bait: Lugs

Rigs: Light Spinning Rod. 1 up 1 down Cortaz stlye

Results: 1 smoothhound pup and a few missed bites

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:
On the way back from working in Waterford decided to break the drive to dublin by hitting courtown beach. Set up a light spinning rod with lugs and a 15g weight. After 20 minutes in the sunshine I moved into the shadows of the cliffs and immediately got a rattling bite. 10 minutes later I landed a small smoothhound pup. I got a few more bites and then headed home.
First smoothhound and plenty of action for a little over an hours fishing.
Entries now open for the Henry's Tackle Shop All Ireland Shore Smooth Hound Championships on July 18h hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Nice one.... Always nice to get any fish on the lighter rods if possible.
