fish from a boat regularly on the fethard side of the hook. plenty of cod pollack wrasse and pouting in close to the cliff (about 300m off it) so id say the same is in closer

A few of the SAI lads, myself included fished Hook Head last year after a boat comp was cancelled due to mechanical problems.

deprnds what side you go from, parking at slade and walking over fields you will come to a bay shaped area if water is rough can get lots of macks and some good side pollock spinning, if you park at the lighthouse and walk around to the left over a stone wall will see various ledges fish on the bottom from here at low tide will get doggies on bottom, float fish a sand eel glose into the rock for some nice pollock or rag for wrasse. watch these ledges when tide is out can be slippy in patches and keep an eye on the sea around you
