smoothie hunt, Tinnaberna, 10th june 07
People:myself, teacher, jd and steve
Duration:7:30pm-12
Tide:ermm... all over..
Weather:clear calm and warm
Bait:crab , lug , rag, mackerel
Rigs:various
Results:smoothies (starry and common), doggies
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:after having a BBQ we set off to the the mark.. after wondering were we going the right way we found the beach (only a few killometers from kilmuckridge)
the fishing started off with fish comming mostly to jd with starry and common smoothounds approx 1-2lbs.. i got a nice doggie on my second cast after losing my first rig into rocks.. the fishing went quiet for a while then the rod rest started to make a move for the water.. grabbed the rod and held on.. for a moment or two i thought it was a bass..but thankfully it turned out to be a common smoothie.. :D :D :D not only that but a smoothie that weighed 7.4lbs :D .. that made my trip.. fishing became really slack so we decided a time to finish up.. which meant one last cast... as i was about to walk to the rod to reel in there ws a small tap tap.. struck into it and low and behold another smoothie :D :D :D
a perfect day .. exactly what i wanted.. and not only a 7.4lbs smoothie but a specimen at that :D :D

How far were you fishing distance wise to hit the fish lads?

I don't know what is more impressive. The fact that you got 2 smoothies or the fact that you wore a float jacket in theat weather..... Mental!!!!

LOL, I never noticed that! I think the shine off the fresh-shaven face dazzled me! :lol: :lol:
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!
