Hi all, i am looking to buy a rock rod in the near future and i was wondering what you would recommend? i know of a place that holds 50lbs conger and if i am ever lucky enough to hook one i want a chance of landing it.
any of the conoflex nemisis rods, the nemisis plus, nemisis plus slr (super lightweight rod). i have the nemisis plus and has served me well for rock and rough ground fishing and plucking out the odd conger.
it was at its max with a 20lber..i wouldnt push it beyond that because i am very fond of it.....ive seen your nitra pete its just i worry about the bite dectection on it.
That day in Killary it was the Century I had with me Alex. To be honest the bite detection on the Nitra isn't great but then again I'm only using it for bigger fish where your going to know when you get hit.
hi im new on the site i would recomend the grey`s apollo mk 1 if you can get your hands on one they are a very stiff rod and would pull anything out of the rocks and weed.the lads here in the north east of england go nuts for them for rock fishing i also hear the anyfish anywhere rock rod is good i have the 14 foot big beach and its the best rod iv ever had so i would recomend that also
Hi Alex i use a zero plus on the rough great rod not to heavy excellent bite detection and it can put a big bait a long way in the right hands sadly not mine the other rod i use on the rough is a century fireblade sport it is a poker
hi Alex, would the rod you are looking for need to cast a long way, because if your after big conger then a boat rod would be the best tool for the jod
MC, i would be looking at a boat rod but i do like the extra lenth/control over the fish. it would need to be able for me to cast it 100 yards about because i would also hope to use it for tope.
