Fresh Bait- Ragworm / Crab

#1 Post by Pyreneenguy »

Arriving on the ferry from France, Saturday, then driving down to Goleen. Can anyone suggest somewhere to buy fresh bait
between Rosslare and Waterford ?

Thanks

best choice wowuld be from Cork, and its a 2 minute diversion off the road you'll be on anyway, http://www.corkanglingdirect.com

can't vouch for quality there at the moment but the fridge has razors, lug, sandeel, mussel etc and all the gear you might need.

i'd pick up fresh mackeral in Skibereen though if you have time, there is also a tackle shop in skibereen but , if i remember correctly, they didn't have any frozen / fresh baits ... but there is a fishmonger down the street.

good luck

Thanks !

I've already visited Halfway Angling Centre , indeed, I phoned the guy today to order some fresh bait. However, things sometimes don't quite go as planned and the shop might be closed by the time I get there , that is why I asked if there was a good address between Rosslare and Waterford !

Hello there Pyreneenguy. You could try Waterford angling centre on the tramore road in Waterford. Its just behind "Woodies DIY Centre" in Waterford. Prob best if you ring a couple of days in advance to tell em what your after. 00353 (0)51 844314. Good luck.

A little bit out of the way, but Dave's tackle is open nearly every day till 9 pm or so. You would have to go into Wexford and then across the bridge, then take a right about a mile out the road where the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve is signposted.

Phone is 053-9124037
