On to Killala!!

#1 Post by garyk »

Just thought I'd say howdy! before coming to your shores...

A group of us USA Northwest salmon fishers will be at Killala Bay the first two weeks of June. The Deanery's cottages will be our basecamp.

I'm sure we'll stand out with our funny looking gear as we explore the beaches, loughes and rivers from Killala to the Mullet Penninsula.

Anyway, it'd be good to meet some of our Irish angling brothers and compare notes. We'll be happy to buy pints for anyone that can show us what a 'lugworm' is and and then point to where to we should use them :D .

Fish On!

P.S. anybody have a link for Killala Bay tides?

Garyk,

Try to get some local advise on where to fish and where to get fresh bait in Killala, there are plenty of skippers operating from the harbour. It's a good place for sea trout but you will need to get a permit. On the site there is plenty of info on how to fish, it just depends on what species you are after.
