Mick The Painters North Dublin Beach

#1 Post by alby »

People:5

Duration:4 hours

Tide:high

Weather: Blustery, eased off later

Bait: peeler

Rigs: pennel

Results: 4 bass

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:
Got a call from Mick yesterday asking did I want to use up my bait from the comps at the weekend, he reckoned there could be a few fish moving on his local beach.

Not filled with confidence myself, Mick, Mick Junior, Dave and Robbie headed out this morning, all I can say is: Mick, you're some guille. Robbie had a bass straight away (8lb 2oz) followed by Dave (6lb 5oz) the Mick took the prize for biggest with a whopping 9lb 6oz while Dave played another of about 7lb.

Fantastic fishing, who said there's no fish in Dublin??

Funny that Pete, Mick was playing the 9lb'er, lip curled, sweat pumping and the bass rod doubled over, and the first thing I roared over to him "is it a counter Mick"

Get in there Alby....!
Dublin does produce some cracking Bass every now and then. My best is approx 8Ib for Dublin. To get that many big bass in one session is unreal.

Well done on catch and relsease by the way. Only way to do it..!
Top 3 lure caught bass 2017 :
10Ib 5 oz
9Ib 2oz
8Ib 11oz
