Cahore point

im not familiar with the area whatsoever, but a mate has a mobile down there and has myself invited for the weekend - he has told me he gets dogs, mack, pollack and wrasse down there on rag

hes not very experienced and i was wondering are there any other species particular to the location that could be targeted

any tactics would be greatly appreciated

Cahore point is in wexford and close to some of the best beaches for bass, smoothies etc on the East coast. Its Just north of Blackwater, Mauricecastle. Its just a little too far for me to drive after work so I dont know the best tactics but some of the match men should put you right.

ill definetly be targeting the bass alright - picked up some advice - cheers

dont think ill be putting too much effort in for the smothies as the size has dropped off entirely from what im hearing. but then if the bass isint going so well and the crab is collected...

How are ya corby. Theres also some nice flatties to be had here in the right conditions. Flounder, plaice and even turbot!

the tide isint too high, the wind is meant to be westerly - and if those deluges come - it could be a father ted scenario in the mobile :lol:

If the weather is that bad, set the rod up on the pier and then go up and watch it from the Strand Bar at the top of the hill. Don't put any bait on though, you wouldn't want to have to go outside :lol:
