Sometimes in bad weather Dunlickey can be at its best. So as long as your not going to be blown off the cliff try it still. In strong winds you may need to lob leads up to 10oz to get into water.
Bourkes bait is poor in my experience. I asked about the quality of the mackerel which was muck and did he have ammo but no joy. He said it was frozen fresh so should be good. If he can't accept he's selling crap theres no argueing. THe shooting and fishing store in limerick city can carry ammo but the stock isn't always there or they carry non-ammo stuff. Only suggestion would be to ring in advance to see if it could be ordered for you or bring your own over in a cool box. I get my squid from the chinese super market on Henry street in Limerick city.
Its a pain in the arse but its just something we all have to put up with down here.

My bait collection involves mackerel bashing dunlickey and digging for lug at seafield pier. I'm sure you've looked at the shannon fisheries board web site with various collection spots. I've heard of crab being got from poulnasharry in the spring. It doesn't seem to be rated over fish baits here for ray and I haven't tried it to say. I've heard visiting anglers say the same thing.
