Duration:9.30 ish to 12.00am or so
Tide:On the drop, Flat calm seas.
Weather:Easterly breeze
Bait:Locally gathered Razor for me, I thnk Pete had Mack and sandeel also.
Rigs: Big Pulleys
Results:A dogfish apiece for myself, Pete and Brian. Pete also contrived to genuinely hook a lesser Sandeel in the head on a 2/0 aberdeen. If I hadnt seen it wriggling I would have said he was taking the mick....
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:
Headed off on a whim to fish Garretstown in an impromptu session in faint hope that the breezy conditions may have put some bit of a roll on the strand. Alas, on arrival I was greeted with mill pond like conditions. Thats Easterlys for this beach covered so....
With little to no surf and fishing the ebb I elected to blast my baits out. Pete fished one short in close looking for flats and one out a bit further. I drew first blood on the first cast with a doggie. Things went quiet for a while and most of the time was being spent chatting..... Pete somehow contrived to do his species list a power of good by genuinely pulling in a head hooked lesser sandeel on a 2/0
I missed a cracking bite not long after that which resulted in me sprinting in Neoprene waders 30 yards or so to grab the rod, alas no fish.... Thats what you get for talking....
Welcome back to Cork Pete, nice to see you have the fishing destroyed with your return......
