Give me room..
Was fishing a spot recently and attracted one of those anglers that prefers to fish the bit of water your in and not a few yards away. I had just got to the mark and was all alone, just setting up and another angler arrived. I cast my 2 beach rods out and left about an 8 foot gap between them were i could put my box etc and give myself room to work. I sat back a few feet to watch my rod tips and this gut walks over, climbs unto the pier wall between my rods and goes to cast out. I had to say something to him about thats not on mate and he did not seem to think what he was doing was wrong. He did move in the end, but only after i had to explain some fishing facts to him. And no, he is not new to angling, says he has done it for years. Where do these people come from???

Had this problem once - at a club outing in Gurteen, myself and one of the lads were fishing together, pegged about 9/10 yards apart at most. The rest of the group were fishing closer to the car park, the nearest guy being about 50 yards to my left. Nice big gap for any latecomers to set up in. Cue latecomer... strolls down the beach and proceeds to set up between the 2 of us - no more than 4/5 yards from either stand. It was comical, this big 50 yard gap then 3 rod stands so close together. Had to laugh - until he started casting across our lines
I'm sure Steve and the other Galway lads will know exactly who I'm referring to...

Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

Do these people have no friends and want someone to talk to? Its happened to me and the old man a few times. A beach a mile or so long and they want to be beside you. We said something once and the bloke started getting all thick (which i guessing he was anyway :? ) so now we wait till they set up and move away from them.
It is a pain tho.
