You can dig big rag at the Wire Ropes, the digging is hard, the ground is very very stoney but you can get some monster rag there albeit in small numbers.
In the harbour, beside the sailing club and that sandy area has a few lug and rag at either end where the stones are, not great.
Also, the river has Rag, but at the moment the digging isnt great, seems that someone has been digging all winter coz the place looks like no mans land and usually after the winter all the holes etc from the summer digging have filled in . . not this time though . . .
Again, hasn't great numbers of bait, but you'll geta few dozen, enough for a session anyway . . . but nowhere near as good as teh spots in Dublin etc.

When the river was badly polluted and there was a lot less digging going on we used to get rag 3 foot long from wire ropes when pulled straight and the thickness of you tumb (or at least thats how I remember them). Two of us would dig with one holding the worm so it couln't bury down and the other digging them out. The lug near the sailing club is of poor quality and I gave up digging it when I got big enough to dig for rag as I caught bugger all on it. The work down on the stream here means any rain wipes out the lug piles now. There also used to be a broken suir pipe here that I'msure used to help matters.

Hi Donagh!
I remember over by the sailimg club me and a mate could get rag maybe 15-16 inches long and as a kid (12-13) you could get any amount of bait at the sailing club or the "strand" beside it but since that pipe wa sput there many years ago there seems to be few worms there at all . .
But you can still get plenty of lug if you know where to look!
